GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard)

The main aim of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is to define requirements to ensure organic status of textiles, from sourcing and manufacturing through environmentally and socially responsible stages all the way up to post-marketing labelling in order to provide a credible assurance to the end consumer.

GOTS is the only global textile processing standard for textiles made from organic fibers. One could also say it’s the world’s leading standard for processing textiles made from organic fibers while defining high-level environmental criteria for while all along the organic-textile supply chain. It requires compliance with social criteria as well.

In order to be considered GOTS – or Global Organic Textile Standard – certified, at least 70% of a product or material must have been made up of organic fibers which have been cultivated from renewable resources. There are also needs for requirements with regards to toxic substances and environmental criteria. Here at the wet-processing unit it is important to be conscientious of our ecological footprint. That’s why we’ve implemented our very own functional treatment systems that manage all present waste water by turning it into usable, safe drinking water for both employees and consumers.
